FAQs

What if I don't live in Illinois?

No worries! Just check to see if you live in one of the states where we’re able to offer our services. We currently offer services to adults in the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Oklahoma, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Do you take insurance?

No, we are unable to accept insurance because the state of Illinois doesn’t offer licensure for naturopathic doctors. This affects coverage.

Do you prescribe medications?

No, we do not prescribe medication. You will need to see your primary care provider for that.

Do you diagnose or treat medical conditions?

No, we do not diagnose or treat medical conditions as the state of Illinois does not currently offer licensure to naturopathic doctors nor does it recognize them as primary healthcare providers.

What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a system of care that combines traditional healing principles with modern scientific knowledge and clinical approaches.
Naturopathic doctors, often called NDs, are trained to consider multiple aspects of a person’s health including nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, environmental factors, and other influences that may affect well-being. Naturopathic care aims to understand the individual and develop a personalized approach to supporting health. It focuses on supporting the body’s natural ability to heal when it has everything it needs and addresses the individual as a whole.

What wellness concerns can we discuss?

Naturopathic care can support a multitude of health goals and ailments including weight loss, stress, difficulty sleeping, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, acne, eczema, anxiety, infertility, and many others.

Should I continue seeing my healthcare provider?

Yes, this is not only encouraged but required for many aspects of the process. Naturopathic doctors are trained to work integratively with licensed healthcare providers and naturopathic care will compliment your care from your primary care provider and specialists, not replace it.

How do virtual consultations work?

Naturopathic consultations are held virtually through video sessions where we discuss your health goals and lifestyle. This is conducted through a safe platform called Practice Better where you can also send messages, return your forms, and upload your food journal.

How much does a consultation cost?

The Wellness Starter Pack costs $570. Client Follow-Ups are $165 and Client Refreshers are $330.

How long are appointments?

The Initial Naturopathic Consultation lasts 90 minutes. All follow-ups last 30 minutes and the Client Refresher is 60 minutes.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can book your consult on our website. Just look for the “Book Your Consult” button or click on the day in the calendar image to select your preferred time. This will walk you through the booking steps.

What can I expect during my first consultation?

We will dive into your health history, diet, lifestyle habits, possible environmental exposures, sleep quality, and even stressors. We talk about your health goals and gather as much information as possible to make sure that we can create a wellness plan that truly fits your needs. This will last for 90 minutes and we’ll go over any other questions you have toward the end.

What should I do to prepare for my first consultation?

Read, sign, and fill out the client agreement, client intake form, and diet diary. Make sure to include the amount of foods, snacks, and beverages along with the specific details in your diet diary. Once you complete these, they will be available for review. If you have any recent lab work you can go ahead and gather those results. Also, make sure to gather the names and dosages of any medications or supplements you’re taking because we will need this information. There is also a checklist including this information in your welcome packet to help.

What technology do I need for a virtual consultation?

You will need a laptop, computer, tablet, or smartphone with video and audio capabilities as well as a stable internet connection.

What if I have questions after my appointment?

If you have questions afterward, feel free to give us a call, send us an email, or send a quick instant message through your Practice Better client portal.
